This is one of my favorite spots hands down in NYC. It's lovely inside and for dining on the sidewalk. The service is great and I have yet to eat something that was not incredible. I love the Cheeto like things that they serve in the beginning with hot sauce, we had the guac and ceviche both melt in your mouth good. For entrees I had the pollo verde enchilada and it was so so so good. I would recommend it to anyone and I love how easy it is to get a table. I am thankful to live close by.

Must try!! Casa Enrique has some of the best and most authentic Mexican food NYC has to offer and I'm so glad I got a chance to go. Their cocktail menu is huge! I started off with a their special drink of the day which was a guava one and it was so delicious. For food we shared veggie enchiladas (Doña Blanca) and a chile relleno which was amazing. I typically don't opt or love chile relleno's but this was another level stuffed with halloumi cheese and smothered in a delicious sauce. I couldn't get enough. The star of the show was the tres leches dessert which was by far one of the best I've ever had. It's definitely on the sweeter side bc of the Cajeta but it works so well! Can't wait for my trip back here!

8/10 Wanted to try this place for a really long time and sad to hear they lost their Michelin star but heard they're still pumping out some great food so you know I had to stop by. First of all the little fried dough sticks with the three little hot sauces that they give you complementary are so addictive and were a great little crunch to start off with, not too filling. Margaritas were actually delicious and are a cannot miss item, with the perfect balance of sweetness, saltiness, and sourness. The enchiladas with salsa verde have a great texture with a punchy fragrant sauce, soft corn tortilla, and quality cotija cheese. However, the chicken inside was a bit dry. I would say that my meal here was good bordering on great and is worth trying but I can see why and where their quality may have shifted over the years. Also, the tres leches is solid, no complaints, but definitely not a need to have item.

The food here is fantastic. The star of the show was the rajas con crema appetizer. I loved the rich cream sauce with all the warm spices, and the corn added some nice textural contrast with the peppers. I had the huevos con mole, and the mole sauce was just the right balance of sweet, savory, and complex. My friend had the tostadas de jaiba and tacos de lengua, which he enjoyed. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate pot de creme and queso ice cream. The chocolate dessert was dark and intense, and the cream and cookies on top were great at contrasting. The queso ice cream was nice and subtle. The meal was expensive at about $145 total, but it's worth the money.

Casa Enrique has been on our list for quite a while and we finally made it! Fairly unassuming from the outside- they have some outdoor seating and the building is quite small. Indoors is an intimate space, with 2 wings of primary seating area. It's a bit noisy, so this is not the place for you if you're looking for a quiet dining experience. We started out with some drinks- a mezcal old fashioned (super smoky!) and a watermelon mojito (very refreshing and delicious). For food we got the Mole de Piaxtla and the Carna Asada. The mole was very tasty- quite a bit of depth of flavor the chicken was fall of the bone tender. The steak was delicious as well, esp when paired with the side of buttery poblano peppers and corn. Our entrees also came with a side of tortillas. We didn't get an appetizer because we were saving room for dessert, and it was so worth it because their flan is to die for. Super thick and creamy, not eggy at all, probably the best flan I've ever had! Overall great experience- they were very busy and it seemed like there were only 1 (maybe 2) waiters servicing the entire restaurant, so it was a bit slow in my opinion. But the food was so good that it was worth it.

I've heard mixed things before visiting Casa Enrique, so I knew I had to just try it for myself. I watched a video on how they make their mole sauce, and I thought it was super cool to know the intricate details and decisions chefs make in the kitchen to create their end product. Michelin star aside, it is for sure still worth the visit. The dishes are fantastic and the staff is so friendly and wonderful. Who really knows what Michelin reviewers base their decisions on. I would say despite Casa Enrique's high status, the tables and chairs (which feel plastic-y) and low ceilings make the space and experience more casual than other high-end restaurants. I will note that the material of the tables do make it easy for the staff to clean up what-can-become messy splatters, so I don't blame them for using those. TL;DR: try the mole!!! Wow the mole is so good. Such a complex mix of flavors! The tacos are hefty prices but my boyfriend's mom thoroughly enjoyed them and it's a good choice if you want to eat an individual portion. The rest of us shared: GUACAMOLE - 5/5 can't go wrong with the guac. It's delicious. TOSTADAS DE JAIBA - 3/5 it was good but difficult to share for a party less than 3, as it's 3 small bites of crab on tortilla DE POLLO CON MOLE DE PIAXTLA - 5/5 SO good. This was a great dish to be able to try the mole in all its glory. POZOLE DE MI TIA - 4/5 the service provided us smaller bowls and extra spoons so we could share this between all 4 of us. This was really delicious as well provided a good mix of types of dishes and textures. I give it a 4/5 because it's not mind-blowing but it's definitely delicious and I would recommend. The staff was really nice and accommodating. They were helpful when deciding what to eat (as we had some back and forths when ordering lol), and overall made the experience more pleasant. I enjoyed brunch at Casa Enrique, time to go back for dinner!!

Even on a weekday night they were quite busy and recommend making a reservation . Tacos are a bit pricey but delicious. The enchiladas were also great!

it's good but it's not mindblowing - i expected a littttle more due to its long earned hype, but i think it's a solid spot for dinner and not anything too crazy. the food: i got the ceviche, enchiladas in green sauce, and lengua tacos. DO NOT pass on the lengua, it's incredibly tender and delicious. enchiladas were just okay, and ceviche was good but on the sour side. the drinks: everything tastes quite tropical, very pineapple forward the space: big inside!

I'm not a big fan of Mexican food in general. I also went to Pujol few months ago and we were very disappointed with the food, $500 for 2 people, we definitely don't recommend it. I came here with very low expectations but I was very impressed. Very well deserved of the one Michelin star. The chicken with mole was amazing! the chicken literally melt in your mouth soft. I also enjoyed the lengua tacos. Will come back to try different dishes.
